DAVIDSON, N.C. – Senior midfielder Jenni Isaac was honored for her excellent work on the field as well as in the classroom for the second straight season by earning a spot on the 11-member Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, as the conference released its annual awards for the 2015 season.
This is the second year in a row Isaac was named to the academic team, based on a vote of the women's soccer media relations directors at each of the 14-member institutions.
The Bridgewater, Conn., native added to her academic awards this year after earning a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District III First Team this past week. She advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-,second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected this month.
Isaac had a solid senior year on the field, starting all 19 of Davidson's games to go with a goal, three assists and five points. She finished her career playing in 76 games and starting 64 of them. Her three assists and five points were a personal-best this season, giving her career marks of five assists and nine points to go with a couple goals.
In the classroom, the senior midfielder studies center for Interdisciplinary studies. Just this past Spring, the senior was awarded the nationally prestigious Barry Goldwater Scholarship, which Isaac is using this school year for her studies in neuroscience.
In addition to her spot on the A-10 Academic Team last year, Isaac earned A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Prior to Davidson joining the A-10, Isaac was also a Southern Conference All-Academic Team member in the Fall of 2013.
Davidson concluded its season with a 7-12 record and finished 3-7 in league play.
After winning the regular season with a perfect 10-0 league record, George Washington grabbed three of the top five individual honors. Broke Stoller was named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Year and Sofia Pavon earned A-10 Rookie of the Year. The league's coach of the year award went to GW's Sarah Barnes.
Taking home the A-10 Offensive Player of the Year was Dayton's Ashley Campbell, while her teammate Nicole Waters was named the midfielder of the year.
The Colonials put seven players on the all-conference first team and another three on the second team, while Dayton had a combined four players on both teams.
