
Davidson Races to Third Place at 2015 A-10 Championship

MECHANICSBURG, Va. - A trio of top-15 finishes sparked the Davidson men's cross country team, as the Wildcats finished third at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at Polo Green Park.
Will Brewster turned in Davidson's top performance with a ninth-place finish. The junior covered the 8K course in 24:54.2. Ryan Phillips wasn't far behind, covering the course in 24:57.2 to take 11th, while Daniel Samet finished 13th with a time of 25:00.4.
Davidson's top three finishers earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors following the race.
Walker Mogen was the next runner through the finishing chute with a time of 25:19.2 to rank 32nd. Davidson didn't have to wait long for freshman Dylan Carmack to cross the line in 25:25.8 to place 38th.
Aaron Forburger recorded a time of 25:49.3, while Ian Robertson crossed the line in 25:51.7 to place 57th and 60th respectively.
Saint Joseph's claimed its first men's team title since 2009, totaling 77 points. Massachusetts took second with 98 total points, followed by Davidson with 103 points. La Salle claimed fourth place with 106 points, while George Mason registered 120 points to round out the top-five team finishes. George Mason senior Steven Flynn was named the men's Most Outstanding Performer after finishing first overall with a time of 24:21.1.
"I am extremely proud of the men and women today!" said Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Jen Straub. "We had some great performances and having four all-conference runners and a rookie of the year bode well for our future."
"We ran great today," said men's head coach Renny Waldron. "The guys really put it together. It's always nice to run our best when it matters most, and we certainly had our best race of the season today."
Davidson will travel to Charlottesville, Va., to compete at the 2015 NCAA Regional Meet Friday, Nov. 13. The meet, hosted by Virginia, will be held at Panorama Farms.
