
Strong Showing For Davidson at Greater Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Against a competitive field, Ryan Phillips registered a top-50 finish as the Davidson men's cross country team posted a 12th place finish at the 2015 Greater Louisville Classic Saturday morning.
The Wildcats finished just ahead of Atlantic 10 foe La Salle with an average of 25:15.24.
Hailing from Ridgewood, N.J., Phillips covered the 8K course in 24:46.01 to rank 48th overall to turn in Davidson's top performance. On the heels of Phillips was senior Daniel Samet, finishing in 24:58.96 to take 70th overall.
Will Brewster and Dylan Carmack were next through the finishing shoot. Brewster crossed the line in 25:17.75, while Carmack registered a time of 25:19.60 to take 92nd and 96th, respectively.
Ian Robertson rounded out the scoring contingency for the Wildcats. Robertson finished in 25:53.84.
"We had a very solid showing today," said head coach Renny Waldron. "Ryan Phillips and Daniel Samet ran well up front. Our most impressive performance came from our freshman, Dylan Carmack, who really stepped up to the plate on the big stage. To run so well in a big race like this as a rookie is very promising."
Davidson returns to action Oct. 16 to compete at the Wake Forest Invitational.
