DAVIDSON, N.C. – Senior co-captain Jenni Isaac was recognized for her outstanding season on the field as well as in the classroom by being named to the first team on the CoSIDA Academic All-District III Team.
By earning a spot on the first team, Isaac advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third- team All-America honorees will be selected next month.
It was the 13th time a Wildcat has earned a spot on one of the academic all-district teams, and the first time since 2010 when Allison Drutchas and Callan Elswick were named to the first and second team, respectively.
As a senior this year, Isaac has had her best season offensively. The midfielder has started all 17 games, while scoring a goal and picking up a career-high three assists for a personal-best five points. She ranks second on the team in assists and fifth in points.
The Bridgewater, Conn., native, registered her second career game-winner in a 3-1 win at Georgia State, Sept. 20. For her career, Isaac has played in 74 games and started 62 of them, scored a pair of goals to go with five assists for nine points.
In the classroom, Isaac holds a 3.90 grade point average in center for Interdisciplinary studies. Just this past Spring, the senior was awarded the nationally prestigious Barry Goldwater Scholarship, which Isaac is using this school year for her studies in neuroscience. Last year, she was named to the women's soccer Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team and earned A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the Fall and Spring semesters. In addition, Isaac was a Southern Conference All-Academic Team member in the Fall of 2013.
