Rollo Sets Record At Hilton Garden Invitational

Winston-Salem, N.C. – Junior Patrick Rollo clocked a 1:52.93 in the 800 meter to set a new program record for the event on a flat track as the Davidson men's track and field team had a strong showing on the first day of competition at the Hilton Garden Invitational Friday at the JDL Fast Track.
Rollo placed second in the 800, coming in less than one second behind Wake Forest's Simon Holden (1:52.43). The Wildcats collected one top-5 finish and four-top 20 finishes on the first day of competition.
In the 5,000 meter run, Aaron Forburger posted a time of 15:35.22 to take 12th.
Whitner Chase crossed the line in 8:31.71 to take 14th place, just 1.15 second ahead of teammate Henry Falotico, who ran 8:32.66 to finish 15th place in the 3,000 meter run. Daniel Samet placed 20th with a time of 8:35.95.
Jacob Hostetler posted a 51.22 in the 400 meter to place 18th.
In the field events, Jordan Marshall finished 18th with a final jump of 6.55 meters.
Davidson will return to the track tomorrow for day two of the Hilton Garden Invitational.
