Huelskamp Earns CFPA Honorable Mention

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson senior Trey Huelskamp was one of four FCS Tight End Performer of the Week honorable mentions recognized by the College Football Performance Awards for games played through Sept. 27, CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith announced Tuesday morning.
In a loss at Princeton Saturday, Huelskamp led the Wildcats in receiving, setting career highs with nine catches for 82 yards.
Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
Huelskamp, who was named to the CFPA Tight End Award Watch List prior to the season, appears poised to have his finest season yet. Huelskamp already has 19 catches for 198 yards through five games this season after totaling 17 catches for 182 yards in 11 games last season. He caught 28 passes for 228 yards as a freshman.
The Wildcats (1-4, 0-1 PFL) will continue their Pioneer Football League slate Saturday, hosting Dayton (2-1, 0-0 PFL) at 1 p.m. at Richardson Stadium.
