
14 Wildcat Teams Honored by NCAA for APR

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Fourteen of Davidson's athletic teams were honored by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) with the Academic Progress Report (APR) Public Recognition award as announced Wednesday.
The accolade is given by the NCAA to teams that earned multiple APR scores in the top 10 percent for the past four years. The most recent APR scores are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years. This announcement is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort and is intended to highlight teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APRs within their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of the overall Division I academic reform effort.
Davidson teams earning the award were:
Baseball
Football
Men's Basketball
Men's Tennis
Wrestling
Women's Basketball
Women's Cross Country
Women's Lacrosse
Women's Soccer
Women's Swimming & Diving
Women's Tennis
Women's Indoor Track
Women's Outdoor Track
Volleyball
Led by Davidson's 11 programs honored, a total of 39 Southern Conference teams representing nine member institutions earned the accolade. Davidson was one of six schools to have multiple programs honored, and accounted for seven of the 19 SoCon women's teams honored and four of the 20 men's SoCon programs acknowledged. Including Davidson, four schools had at least one men's and one women's program honored while the Wildcat baseball, wrestling, women's soccer and volleyball teams were the lone league representatives in their sport.
