The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
Friday's contest vs. Longwood will be the 17th meeting, with the Wildcats holding a 9-7 record since first facing the Lancers in 1994. In this year's regular season matchup, Davidson came back from a two-goal halftime deficit on the road by using an 8-0 run to grab an 11-6 advantage and went on for a 13-9 win. The victory gave head coach Kim Wayne her 50th career win at Davidson, and at the time, pushed the 'Cats' win streak to nine straight.
This will be the third time both teams have faced each other in tournament play. The two schools saw each other in the National Lacrosse Conference in 2010 and 2012, with the 2010 matchup coming in the final where Longwood won 17-9. Davidson earned a 19-9 win in 2012 in the quarterfinals before falling to High Point in the semifinals.
