BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— Despite taking an early lead, Davidson was unable to hold on in falling on the road to the Samford Bulldogs, 4-3, in Southern Conference men's tennis Saturday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.

Davidson fell for fourth straight match, dropping to 3-12 overall and 0-4 in SoCon action. Samford won its second in the past three matches to move to 4-8, 1-2 in league play.

The Wildcats grabbed a 2-0 lead after winning the doubles point for the fifth time this season and then earning a forfeit win at No. 6 singles.

In doubles, the pair of Alex Howard and Jordan Hart won by forfeit, and the No. 2 team of Ethan Kallick and Evan Watkins won their first match of the year with an 8-5 decision.
