Davidson Earns 16th Straight All-Academic Team Honor

2014 Division I Scholar Teams
NEW ORLEANS – The Davidson men's cross country team was designated as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the 16th consecutive year, as announced Friday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
With a team grade point average of 3.37, Davidson was one of 160 teams to earn the honor. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
Davidson was one of 146 institutions to have both the men's and women's teams honored, and one of four Southern Conference teams honored. Davidson's future home, the Atlantic 10, as well as the ACC and SEC, were the leading conferences with nine teams each.
Chattanooga reported the highest cumulative team GPA in the country through the fall 2013 semester at 3.71.
Northern Arizona, which finished runner-up at the NCAA Championships, was named the Division I Scholar Team of the Year as the highest-finishing team at NCAAs to have earned All-Academic Team honors with a cumulative 3.34 grade point average.
