Straub and Haas Defend CPGA Pro-Pro Title

PINEHURST, N.C. – For the second straight season, Davidson head golf coach Tim Straub and Wake Forest coach Jerry Haas captured the AHEAD / E-Z-GO Carolinas PGA Pro-Pro Championship. This is their third Pro-Pro victory, also having won in 2010.
Both Demon Deacon alums, Straub (1989) and Haas (1985) posted rounds of 62-62-65=189 (-26) to finish six strokes ahead of the competition.
The 63rd annual event was contested over three days, three courses and three different scoring formats. In round one, the 103 teams/206 competitors competed in Captain's Choice, followed by Best Ball Wednesday and Modified Alternate Shot in the final round.
Now in his 15th season at the helm, Straub led the Wildcats to a pair of Top-10 finishes in the fall. Davidson will return to the course when it opens spring play at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate Feb. 23-24 in Mobile, Ala.
