SAAC-Sponsored Vitamin Drive a Success

DAVIDSON, N.C. – This November, Davidson's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) sponsored its first vitamin drive to benefit the Timmy Global Health group on campus.
At four men and women's basketball games, SAAC collected $150 in monetary donations and yielded 95 bottles of unopened bottled of multivitamins. The Timmy Global Health Group at Davidson will distribute the multivitamins to those in need during a medical service trip to Quito, Ecuador over winter break.
"The vitamins collected through this drive will be going to those living in marginalized communities in the outskirts of Quito, Ecuador," said Laina Cummer, president of the Timmy Group. "It is very gratifying and humbling being able to give out prenatal, adult and children's vitamins—these donations will go a long way! A great thank you goes out to the community."
SAAC would like to thank everyone for their generous support. Make sure to look out for other community service events throughout the year.
