DAVIDSON, N.C. – Mike Blasey (Potomac, Md.), Kevin Carlock (Greensboro, N.C.), Hoke Carlton (Charlotte, N.C.) and Jack Lang (Lexington, Mass.) will join the Davidson golf team for the 2015-16 season, as announced by head coach Tim Straub.
"I am very excited about our 2015 recruiting class," said Straub. "They are all terrific student athletes who will be great additions to our team and Davidson College. I look for all them to make an impact on our program over the next four years." Kevin Carlock Greensboro, N.C./Caldwell Academy A four-year letterwinner… Earned all-conference honors in 2013 and 2014… Qualified for the State Tournament as an individual following junior and senior campaigns… A four-time team Most Valuable Player… Earned Caldwell Academy's Academic Award while ranking No. 1 in his class.
Hoke Carlton Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park Ranked the 13th junior in the State of North Carolina… Voted the 2014 Southwestern 4A Conference and South Charlotte Weekly Golfer of the Year… Finished runner-up at the AJGA Lipari Championship… Also recorded Top-10 showings at the AJGA New Era Junior Championship and Joe Cheves Junior… Like fellow signee Mike Blasey, one of just 12 juniors nationally to earn AJGA HP Scholastic All-American honors.
Jack Lang Lexington, Mass./Lexington Ranked second in the State of Massachusetts… Has an AJGA National Polo Ranking of 126… Captured the Massachusetts Division I Individual State Crown… Selected the 2014 Boston Globe Golfer of the Year… Finished third in the AJGA Puerto Rico Junior Open and Massachusetts Junior Championships… Named to the 2014 Boston Globe and Boston Herald all-scholastic teams.
Davidson, which recorded a pair of Top-10 finishes during the fall, returns to the course when it opens spring play at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate Feb. 23-24 in Mobile, Ala.
