SAAC-Sponsored Toys For Tots Drive a Success

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson Student Athlete Advisory Council's annual Toys for Tots drive was once again successful, as SAAC collected nearly 300 toys.
The drive, which had been in the works for a few weeks, culminated in a celebration of toys at the men's basketball game Saturday night. Because of the community's generosity, many underprivileged children in the area will have a gift this holiday season.
SAAC would like to thank everyone for their generous support. Make sure to look out for other community service events throughout the year.
Since 1947, the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program has been making wishes come true for needy children. The mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign in conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
