Keil Earns CFPA Honorable Mention

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Davidson freshman Jeffrey Keil earned his first Running Back Performer of the Week honorable mention from the College Football Performance Awards, CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith announced Tuesday.
A freshman from Tampa, Fla., Keil carried the ball 33 times, scored two touchdowns and became just the sixth player in school history to run for more than 200 yards in a contest Saturday against Stetson.
Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. Keil was one of six players in the FCS to receive an honorable mention at running back, while Fordham's Chase Edmonds was named the Performer of the Week.
Keil now leads the Wildcats in rushing, totaling 477 yards on 89 carries with six touchdowns.
Davidson (1-8, 0-5 PFL) will return to action Saturday, November 8 at 1 p.m. against Jacksonville in its home finale.
