Eckstein Cards Season-Low, Sits T-5th at Camden Invite

CAMDEN, S.C. – Highlighted by an opening-round 69, Davidson's Todd Eckstein sits at even par and tied for fifth after 36 holes of the Camden Collegiate Invitational hosted by South Carolina.
The two-day / 54-hole event is being played on the Par 70, 6,455-yard Camden Country Club layout.
As a team, the Wildcats are currently 11th at 584 (294-290), three shots out of 10th place and just 12 swings behind the second-place Gamecocks. Wofford leads the 15-team field at 565 (284-281), which is seven clear of the tournament host.
In addition to posting his third round of par or better this fall, Eckstein (69-71=140) finished the day with an eagle and seven birdies.
Andy Simmons (+7/T-37), David Sargent (+8/T-42), Ralph Blasey (+9/T-50) and Alex Nianouris (+16/T-72) are also in the Wildcats' starting lineup, while Spencer Papciak (+16/T-72) is competing as an individual.
The Terriers' Brannan Hudson (-10) fired consecutive rounds of 67 and 63 to grab the top spot on the individual leaderboard by five strokes over USC Upstate's Ryan Cornfield (70-65=135).
Sunday's third and final round will begin at 8:30 a.m.
