DAVIDSON, N.C. — After making their final trip as a member of the Southern Conference to Samford and Chattanooga last weekend, the Davidson women's basketball team returns home to face Elon Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats are playing their seventh game in the past nine at home after a six-game homestand from Nov. 30-Dec. 28.
Game Notes: Quick Hits ...
•The Wildcats starts a two-game homestand with a matchup vs. Elon Saturday afternoon.
•Davidson is coming off a 1-1 trip to Samford (W, 83-68) and Chattanooga (L, 64-72) last weekend.
•Davidson currently sits at 3-4 at home, but looking to snap a two-game skid.
•The Wildcats are off to a 3-1 start in SoCon play, good for second in the league standings.
•Head coach Michele Savage enters her fourth year (64-49, 44-20 SoCon) and is 5-2 vs. Elon.

•The Wildcats suffered their first league defeat of the year, falling at UTC 72-64 Monday evening.

•#Laura Murray3 is second in points per game (18.9), while Hannah Early (14.2, 5th) and Dakota Dukes (12.9, 8th) are also in the top-10.
Murray is second in steals per game (2.4) and fourth in assists (3.2), while Early ranks second in three-point shooting (.438). Dukes is seventh overall in rebounds per game (7.7).

•Davidson, fresh off a second place finish last year in the SoCon with a 16-4 record, was picked to finish third behind Chattanooga and Samford in both the media and coaches polls.
•Laura Murray was selected to the coaches preseason All-SoCon team for the second year in a row.

•Murray ranks second all-time in career points (1,546) and is 213 away from passing two-time SoCon Player of the Year Sophia Aleksandravicius, who holds seven all-time career records.
•She is also third all-time with 186 career made three-pointers and needs two more to move up.
•Murray has scored in double figures in all but one game and is averaging a team-best 18.9 points.
•Of her 14 double figure scoring games, nine have been in the 20-point category.
•Murray was named the SoCon Player of the Month for December and has been tabbed SoCon Player of the Week twice this year, Dec. 3 & 10.

Scouting the Opposition ...
•Elon is coming off a defeat to UNCG in its only game last weekend, having been off since Dec. 31.
•The Phoenix dropped to 5-9 overall and 1-2 in SoCon play after the Spartans ran off a 9-2 run in the last four minutes to secure a 73-62 victory. They have also fallen to Chattanooga, 66-43, Dec. 16.
•Shannen Cochraham had a career-high 19 points and Kelsey Harris had 12 points vs. UNCG.
•Harris paces the team at 12.3 points per game and four times has been the high scorer.
•Elon is on a three-game losing streak as its in the midst of a three-game road trip.
•Elon ranks second in the SoCon in field goal shooting (.426) and first in three-point shooting?(.362).
