KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – Junior Whitner Chase led the Davidson men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish against strong competition at the Wake Forest Invitational Friday evening at Beeson Park.
Chase paced the Wildcats in 25 minutes, 34.18 seconds to place 13th. Junior Sal del Giudice and sophomore Daniel Samet finished consecutively in 23rd (25:55.04) and 24th (25:55.86), while senior Grayam Sailor-Tynes (35th, 26:25.27) and sophomore Aaron Forburger (42nd, 26:27.13) rounded out the top-five scoring group.
No. 23 Florida State dominated the meet, sweeping the top three places individually, led by Bryant Blahnik in 25:07.17, totaling just 31 points. The host Demon Deacons placed second with 56 points and were followed by Clemson (83), Ohio (92), Shawnee State (107) and Davidson (122).
The 'Cats will next compete at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic, Saturday, Oct. 5
