2013 FCS Preseason Position Ratings
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Phil Steele's College Football Preview named Davidson tight end Reese Williams to its Preseason All-Pioneer Football League first team and ranked him in the Top 20 at his position in the Football Championship Subdivision, it was released Tuesday.
Williams (Abilene, Texas/Abilene Cooper) had a breakout season last year and earned first-team all-conference honors. He hauled in a career-best 51 receptions for 522 yards to rank second on the team in both categories and 11th and 13th, respectively, in the PFL. His top performance came in an overtime win at Valparaiso, in which he caught 10 passes for 131 yards to earn the College Football Performance Awards National Tight End of the Week award.
In its preseason position ratings, Phil Steele's slotted Williams 19th amongst FCS tight ends. Senior quarterback Jonathan Carkhuff also earned a high rating from the publication, as he was tabbed 29th amongst FCS signal callers. The ratings were provided by Josh Buchanan of JBScouting.
