Elias Advances to SoCon Wrestling Finals

LEXINGTON, Va. – Seventh-seeded Davidson sophomore Anthony Elias will compete for the Southern Conference Championship at 133 pounds and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament tonight when the championship finals commence at 7 p.m. in VMI's Cameron Hall.
He will face the top seed from The Citadel, Aaron Hansen.
Elias, the seventh seed in the eight-man bracket, knocked off the second seed, Brett Boston of Appalachian State, in a 7-3 decision to advance to the semifinals. In the semis, Elias earned a 9-6 decision over sixth-seeded Robbie Golde of Gardner-Webb.
Elias is looking to be the first Wildcat to win a SoCon title and advance to the NCAA Tournament since Alex Radsky did so at the same weight class in 2010.
