Pagonis Named SoCon Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Demetrios Pagonis was named the Southern Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after a strong performance at the JDL Hilton Garden Invitational, the league office announced Wednesday.
Selections for the award are made by the league's track and field coaches.
Pagonis easily won the 3000-meter run at the JDL Hilton Garden Invitational in 8:21.52, leading a 1-2 Wildcat finish. He is currently ranked second on the SoCon 3000m list and first on the 5000m list.
Pagonis will next head to the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University to compete in the 5000-meter run Saturday.
