DAVIDSON, N.C. - Demetrios Pagonis will look to defend his title in the 5000-meter run when the Davidson men's track and field team competes in the 2013 Southern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday and Sunday on the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The championships will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the women's pentathlon events, followed by the men's heptathlon events at 10:15 a.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at 4:40 p.m.

The distance events are Davidson's strongest, as three Wildcats rank in the Top 10 in the 5000m and two are in the Top 10 in the 3000m. Pagonis and senior classmate Vincent Weir lead Davidson in each, as Pagonis ranks third in the 3000m with a top time of 8:15.76 in the 3000m, and 14:23.74 in the 5000.
