W. Track Completes Day One at Hilton Garden Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Lauren Carter and Molly Marshall each grabbed a top 20 finish as they led a slew of Davidson competitors on the first day of competition at the Hilton Garden Invitational, hosted by the JDL Fast Track.
Carter ran a 19:32.67 to place 18th in the 5,000m. Marshall also recorded an 18th place finish, finishing with a mark of 3.05m (10-00.00) in the pole vault. Teammate Lexie Winograd joined her in the event, recording a height of 2.30m (7-06.50).
Kate Kostecky competed in the 400m run, crossing the line in 1:05.44 for 70th place. Ashley Paige was just behind her in 75th place with a time of 1:09.02.
Wake Forest, Western Carolina, Appalachian State, The Citadel and Georgia Southern join the Wildcats among others at the meet. Competition will resume Saturday morning.
