DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team welcomes its biggest opponent to date to John M. Belk Arena when the Rutgers Scarlet Knights come to town Wednesday evening for a 7 p.m. contest.
The Wildcats are in the midst of a six-game homestand, opening it with a win vs. Gardner-Webb last Saturday. They will also host Wofford (Dec. 7), Furman (Dec. 9), Charlotte (Dec. 21) and Richmond (Dec. 28) after Wednesday's game vs. Rutgers.
Game Notes- Quick Hits ...
•Davidson plays its biggest home game of the program's history with a matchup against American Athletic Conference foe Rutgers Wednesday night.
•The Wildcats will play three games in a six-day span starting Wednesday evening. They will open Southern Conference play vs. Wofford and Furman during the stretch.
•Wednesday's game is the second of a season-long six-game homestand, the longest since 1998-99.
•Head coach Michele Savage enters her fourth year at Davidson (61-45, 41-19 SoCon).

•The 'Cats snapped a five-game skid with a 78-74 win Saturday at home vs. the Runnin' Bulldogs.

•This will be just the second meeting between the two schools after last year's meeting in Rutgers.
•Davidson fell 55-49, but gave Rutgers a run. The 'Cats led 47-41 late in the second half before the Scarlet Knights used a 14-2 run to close out the game.
•Laura Murray had a game-high 24 points, canning six three-pointers, while Sophia Aleksandravicius finished with 12 points, nine boards and seven blocks.

•Rutgers moved to 5-2 after a 61-52 win against Texas Tech at the Barclay's W. Basketball Invitational last weekend in Brooklyn, N.Y.
•RU led by as many as 14 and put three players in double figures, led by Tyler Scaife's 18 points.
•Scaife was the ninth overall rated recruit by ESPN Hoopgurlz and was a preseason American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year. She is pouring in 10.7 points a game through seven games.
•Kahleah Copper averages a team-best 16.9 points and pulls in close to eight boards a game.
•She was named to the AAC Honor Roll for the second time after averaging 15 points and 8.5 rebounds and getting named to the Barclay's Women's Invitational All-Tournament Team.
