Layup Line
• Davidson, which has played seven of its last eight away from home, returns to Belk Arena Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip against Drexel.
• The Wildcats enter 4-6 on the season following an 83-72 setback against Niagara in Buffalo, N.Y., Wednesday evening.
• Despite the loss, Davidson got 17 points from Tom Droney and a career-high 13 points from Jake Belford, who played in his first game since the season opener at Duke.
• Sunday's meeting is just the third ever between the Wildcats and Dragons on the hardwood.
• Playing just its third home game of the season, Davidson is 26-4 at Belk Arena over the last three years.
• The Wildcats have already played three nationally-ranked opponents and will play two more in North Carolina (12/21) and Wichita State (12/29) prior to the New Year.
• Through the first 10 contests, five different players have led the Wildcats in scoring.
• De'Mon Brooks, who was tabbed the Southern Conference Preseason Player of the Year, leads the Wildcats in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
• Droney (13.1), Brian Sullivan (12.4) and Tyler Kalinoski (10.6) are also averaging double figures for Davidson.

• In addition to its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 12th overall, Davidson finished the 2012-13 campaign with a 26-8 record, marking the fifth time in the last seven seasons the Wildcats have posted 25 or more wins.
• Davidson concluded the 2012-13 season with 17 straight wins before falling to Marquette, 59-58, at the buzzer, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
• The Wildcats were picked to finish second in the SoCon preseason poll by both the media and head coaches.
• Davidson returns nine letterwinners from last year's squad, including Brooks, who was selected the Southern Conference Preseason Player of the Year.
• Brooks, the 2011 SoCon Player of the Year (coaches) and two-time Tournament MVP, averaged 13.7 points and 6.2 rebounds a year ago, while shooting 50 percent from the floor.
• Bob McKillop, who is the eighth longest-tenured coach in the country, is in his 25th season at the helm of the Wildcats.
• McKillop is the school's and league's all-time winningest coach with a record of 456-285.
• A year ago, McKillop was named SoCon Coach of the Year for a record ninth time.
• With last season's NCAA?Tournament appearance, every four-year player in the Davidson program since 1994 will have played in the "Big Dance."
• In 2012-13, Davidson led the nation in free-throw percentage with a .795 clip.
• The 2013-14 season will be Davidson's final in the Southern Conference. In July of 2014, Davidson will join the Atlantic 10.

• Despite the setback, De'Mon Brooks led three Wildcats in double figures with 16 points, while Nik Cochran and Jake Cohen added 10 points each.
• In addition to their 19 offensive rebounds, the Dragons shot 54.5 percent in the second half to finish the contest at 49.1 percent.
• Davidson (6-5) shot 44.2 percent (19-43) overall, 36.4 percent (8-of-22) from behind the arc and made 12-of-16 at the line.
• Frantz Massenat also contributed double digits for the Dragons with 14 points.
• Drexel also got 34 points from its bench and finished with 26 points in the paint.

• The Wildcats drilled five straight 3-pointers to start the game before going without a field goal for more than five minutes and falling behind, 34-26.

• Once again Davidson will tackle one of the nation's toughest non-conference schedules, which includes contests with Duke, Virginia, Georgia, Clemson, New Mexico, Charlotte, Drexel, North Carolina, Wichita State and the College of Charleston.
• Five of Davidson's non-conference foes were ranked in the preseason Top-25.
• All told, nine teams advanced to postseason play a year ago, including four that finished with RPIs in the Top-20, according to the NCAA's RPI ratings.
