Davidson Cruises Past Lenoir-Rhyne in Exhibition, 108-57

DAVIDSON, N.C. – In addition to five players in double figures, Davidson drilled 14 3-pointers en route to a 108-57 victory over in-state foe Lenoir-Rhyne in a men's basketball exhibition contest Sunday afternoon at John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats will tip-off the 2013-14 season with a 7 p.m. televised (ESPNU) contest against nationally-ranked Duke on Nov. 8 at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
De'Mon Brooks, who scored the first 10 points of the game for Davidson, led all players with 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including a perfect 3-of-3 from long range. Frontcourt mate and fellow senior Chris Czerapowicz recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyler Kalinoski scored 17 points and Brian Sullivan and Jordan Barham added 12 each.
The Wildcats, who led 59-20 at the break, finished the contest with a 47.1 percent clip from the floor and connected on 14-of-33 (.424) from behind the arc.
In addition to 22 assists on 33 field goals, Davidson concluded its lone preseason contest 28-of-36 (.778) at the charity stripe.
The Wildcats were solid on the defensive end holding the Bears to just 32.3 percent and 2-of-16 from long range.
Matt Kunz and Lawrence Miller were the only Lenoir-Rhyne players in double digits with 15 and 10, respectively.
Davidson controlled the glass, 55-31, including 20 on the offensive end.
