DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Wildcats gear up for a busy weekend by finishing out their final home games when they play host to UNCG Friday night and then close out with Elon Sunday afternoon.
Davidson will honor its seven seniors Friday night, while the whole weekend will be a celebration for the program for 25 years of women's soccer.
The Matchup
Davidson, winners of three of its last four games, closes out its last home games of the regular season by hosting UNCG Friday night at 7 p.m. and then finishes the weekend against Elon Sunday at 2 p.m.
Senior Night / 25-Year Celebration
The weekend starts off with the Wildcats honoring their seven seniors Friday night as Renae Cairns, Tori Krause, Kelsey Krueger, Lindsay Blum, Lauren Swany, Meg Sanborn and Lauren Mihan will be recognized prior to the start of the game.

The All-Time Series/Last Meetings
This will be the 29th meeting for Davidson against the Spartans, who lead the all-time series 22-5-1. UNCG has won the last three in a row, including a 1-0 decision at home last year.
The Wildcats are sporting a 12-6-1 all-time mark vs. Elon, earning a scoreless draw with the Phoenix last year on the road. In 2011, Davidson scored a 1-0 home win for its fourth straight victory at Alumni Stadium in the series.
Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson (5-7-3, 3-2 SoCon) went 2-0 last weekend, with a 3-0 home win vs. The Citadel and then finished with a 4-3 triumph at Francis Marion Sunday ... the pair of wins gave the Wildcats three in the past four games ... Stepanie Piperno scored a pair of goals and picked up an assist Thursday night vs. The Citadel ... Ashley Finke and Kate Joss scored their first two collegiate goals each in the win at FMU, with Joss' second goal being the game-winner ... Sarah Tuggle, who scored vs. The Citadel, has a team-best four goals and nine points ... Piperno is second with six points (2 gls, 2 asts) ... Becca Fisher leads the team with 40 shots ... the win vs. The Citadel was the Wildcats' 12th in the series ... Rachel Locke earned her fourth win of the year and pushed her save total to 69 ... she is fourth in the SoCon in saves, while in a two-way tie in shutouts with four ... the Wildcats are 3-4-1 at home this year ... they have gone 2-1-3 in overtime contests ... the 'Cats are playing their 20th and final season in the SoCon before moving to the A-10 ... Davidson was picked to finish fourth in the SoCon preseason poll ... the Wildcats return 21 letterwinners, including 10 starters ... head coach Greg Ashton enters his 10th season ... he collected his 100th career win at Davidson in a 4-3 triumph at Francis Marion, Oct. 13 ... he has a 100-76-24 record at Davidosn and won 171 games overall for his career ... the soccer program, which was started in 1989, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Scouting the Spartans
UNCG (7-5-2) lost to Furman (3-0), but tied Wofford (0-0) last weekend ... the Spartans are 6-1-1 on the road this year ... pacing the team in scoring is Chesney White with five goals and 10 points ... she scored the only goal in last year's win vs. Davidson ... Georgia Brown has three goals and two assists for eight points ... as a team, UNCG has netted 17 goals for a 1.21 per game average ... goalkeeper Jamie Simmons has started all 14 games, sporting a 0.88 goals against average and 71 saves ... she ranks third in the league in saves and is tops in shutouts with six ... UNCG returns 12 letterwinners from last year's 12-7-1 team ... the Spartans were picked to finish third in the preseason league poll.
Scouting the Phoenix
Elon (8-2-4) is coming off a 1-0-1 weekend in which it defeated Furman 4-3 last Sunday, while tying Wofford 1-1 Friday ... the Phoenix are second in the league in goals (38), assists (32) and shots (227) ... pacing the offense is Nicole Dennion with 22 points (9 gls, 4 asts) ... she ranks second in the league ... seven other players have scored at least two goals on the year ... goalkeeper Kate Murphy has started all 14 games, sporting a 0.95 goals against average and 37 saves ... she is 7-0-4 in goal ... Elon is 2-1-2 on the road this year ... it has 12 first-year players ... Elon was picked to finish fifth in the preseason SoCon poll.
