DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson defensive back Dan Casey and linebacker Patrick Moynahan both earned FCS honorable mention honors at their respective positions from the College Football Performance Awards for their performances Saturday at Marist, it was announced Monday.
Of Casey's five tackles against Marist, three were for loss for a total of 15 yards, including one sack. He also forced a fumble that Davidson recovered.
Moynahan was honored by the CFPA for the second time in three games, as he posted the best single-game tackling performance so far this season in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision. Two of Moynahan's tackles in the 34-21 loss at Marist were for loss, and one of which was a sack. He also broke up one pass.
Moynahan was also named the Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Week for his performance at Marist.
Davidson returns home to Richardson Stadium for its final non-conference game of the season Saturday at 6 p.m. against Presbyterian.
