DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Wildcats will look to make it four NorPac wins in a row on Friday when they host the Longwood Lancers in a conference match up at Belk Turf Field. The game is set for 6 p.m.
VS. LONGWOOD
The 'Cats and the Lancers meet for the 24th time overall since 1982, with Davidson holding the 12-10-1 series advantage. The Lancers took two of three in 2011, including the NorPac tournament match up between the two teams.
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
The Lancers enter the tilt on a three-game skid after falling to Richmond on the road and Temple and Boston College in Farmville, Va. It may be the first meeting between the 'Cats and Lancers this season, but the two enter the contest with plenty of mutual opponents. Both teams have previously faced William & Mary, Richmond, VCU, James Madison and Ball State. Both teams earned wins over the BSU Cardinals.
LAST TIME THEY MET…
The two teams last faced off in the third-place game of the 2011 NorPac Tournament last November. The Lancers took a 1-0 victory in double-overtime, with Stacey de Grandhomme notching the game winner after 89 minutes of action. 'Cats goalkeeper Sarah Fisher made nine saves in the contest, while Annie Evans led the offensive effort with three shots on goal.
AMATO CLOSING IN
After breaking the all-time goals record this past weekend, senior Finley Amato is nearing the all-time points record. With her goal and assist in Tuesday's 4-0 over Appalachian State, Amato has 102 career points. Davidson's all-time record is 103, set by Kayli Maxwell from 2004-07.
NEXT UP
The Wildcats will remain in town to host No. 16 Wake Forest on Tuesday. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
