DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson quarterback Jonathan Carkhuff, tight end Reese Williams and punter Chazzo Habliston all earned College Football Performance Awards Player of the Week honorable mentions Monday for strong performances at Campbell Saturday.
Carkhuff completed 31-of-44 pass attempts for 340 yards and season-high three touchdowns to lead Davidson to its first win of the season, a 28-21 victory over Campbell.
Williams was Carkhuff's top target with seven receptions for a career-best 74 yards and a touchdown.
Habliston averaged 46.0 yards on three punts with a long of 51, placing two inside the 20. He had a 50-yard punt nullified by a roughing the kicker penalty that gave Davidson a first down.
CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
Williams and Habliston have been honored twice by the CFPA this season. Carkhuff also joins 2012 Davidson CFPA honorees Patrick Moynahan (linebacker), Dan Casey (defensive back) and Lanny Funsten (wide receiver).
Davidson will return to Richardson Stadium to host Butler Saturday at 12 p.m.
