DAF Thanks Donors for Record-Setting Year

Davidson, N.C. - The Davidson Athletic Foundation would like to thank its donors for helping to close out the 2011 fiscial year as the most successful in DAF history. Alumni, parents and friends contributed $1,753,956 for Davidson Athletics this past year, helping the DAF surpass its annual goal by $450,000.
A total of 3,290 supporters made a gift to the DAF this year, with 141 giving at the Ne Ultra level of $2,000 or more.
The ability to designate a gift to a specific sport team(s) has continued to be a positive incentive to our alumni donors, and the teams will immediately benefit from the additional dollars as these contributions will be additive to their fiscal year 2011-12 budgets. The Wildcat Top 21 proved to be a success as well, with women's lacrosse leading the way with an impressive 40.8 percent participation. Over 1600 former student athletes directed their annual gifts to athletics during the 2011 Annual Fund drive.
The dollars raised have already been put to immediate use, funding scholarships for student athletes, as well as providing capital improvements.
The DAF and the Department of Athletics are truly grateful for your generous contributions and support, and we look forward to another year of growth in 2011-12.
