Skeadas Moves Atop Leader Board at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Davidson junior John Skeadas moved into a three-way tie for the individual lead after shooting a five-under-par 66 Saturday in the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
As a team Davidson sits fifth at 572, four-over-par. Davidson sophomore Richard Fountain had been in a tie for the lead after the first round Friday, but shot a four-over 75 Saturday to slide into a tie for 20th place at 144, two-over-par.
Skeadas (71+66) is tied for first with Mississippi's Joe David (69+68) and Akron's Charlie Bull at 137, five-under-par.
Sophomore Sam Echikson also had a strong outing for the 'Cats, firing a one-under 70 to move into a tie for 15th at 143, one-over-par. Freshman Todd Eckstein fired a two-over 73 to round out the 'Cats scorers for the day.
Davidson is eight strokes behind Oklahoma, which leads Middle Tennessee State and Mississippi by one stroke at 564. Southern Conference foe Georgia Southern is three strokes behind Oklahoma and five ahead of Davidson at 567.
The Wildcats are pursued by Akron in sixth (573, +5) and SoCon member College of Charleston (574, +6) in seventh. Memphis (580), Vanderbilt (585) and SoCon member Samford (586) round out the Top 10.
Play continues on the par-71, 7,100-yard course Sunday with the third and final round.
