DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's soccer team pushed their school-record home unbeaten streak to 13 games as the Wildcats played to a 2-2 draw in double-overtime with visiting Providence College on Friday night at Alumni Stadium.
Rachael Newmister (Clover, S.C.) hit the tying goal in the 63rd minute for Davidson (1-0-1) as both teams played almost even the whole night.
Sophomore Lauren Mihan (South Burlington, Vt.) tallied her team-best third goal of the season to start the scoring on the night.
Providence (0-0-2), which was playing Davidson for the first time, earned its second tie of the season as it got goals from Alyssa Martino and Courtney Collins.
The Wildcats remain at home to finish out the weekend when they play host to Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at 1 p.m.
