DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson football coach Tripp Merritt announced today that senior defensive back Peter Kidwell, senior defensive back Malcolm Moses-Hampton, senior offensive lineman Alex Fleming, senior linebacker Gianni Ricci and sophomore quarterback Jonathan Carkhuff have been named captains of the 2011 team. The captains were selected in a vote by the student-athletes and coaching staff.
“We opened up the ballot process to all the classes, and I think we came up with a really great group of captains with good balance on each side of the ball,” said Merritt.
Kidwell was a second-team All-PFL?selection in 2010 and All-PFL Honorable Mention in 2009. He recorded 68 tackles, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, five pass breakups and a blocked kick last season. He was fourth in the league in tackles by a defensive back.
