DAVIDSON, N.C. — Make it one more weekly honor for junior LHP Chris Lamb, who was named to the College Baseball Hall of Fame's National All-Star Lineup for week two, as announced by the organization today.
Lamb, who has already been named SoCon Pitcher of the Week and CollegeBaseball Insider.com Southeast Pitcher of the Week, earned his third weekly honor on the strength of his 11-strikeout, 1-0 complete-game shutout of the Furman Paladins last Friday.
This week's National All-Star Lineup was dominated by pitching performances, highlighted by a pair of no-hitters thrown by Jason Van Skike of Indiana State and Kyle Fitzpatrick of Florida International. UCLA's Trevor Bauer, Florida State's Sean Gilmartin, Vanderbilt's Sonny Gray, East Carolina's Seth Maness, Purdue's Matt Morgan, Cal Poly's Mason Radeke and Lamb all turned in impressive pitching performances and were joined by hitters Murray State's Zach Noonan, Arkansas' Kyle Robinson and Oregon State's Andrew Susac in the week two lineup.
The College Baseball Foundation will release its National All-Star Lineup each week, giving accolades to the past week's top performers. The National All-Star Lineup is nominated by coaches, staff and baseball media contacts.
