Golf Sixth After Two Rounds of Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Sophomore John Skeadas sits four strokes out of first place after leading the Davidson men's golf team to a sixth-place standing after the first two rounds of the Seahawk Invitational Sunday, hosted by UNC Wilmington on the Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall.
The Wildcats were in fourth following the first round after posting a 297, but they combined to shoot a 305 in the second round to slip to sixth at 602.
Skeadas led Davidson in both rounds, posting an even-par 72 in the first and a one-over 73 in the second to finish the first 36 holes at 145. Freshman Richard Fountain fired a 73 in the first-round, but shot a four-over-par 78 to finish the day in a tie for 26th at 151. Junior Jackson Taylor improved on an opening-round 79 with a second-round 74 to rank in a tie for 36th place. Freshman Sam Echikson (tie-43rd place, 154) and senior Bobby Urso (tie-50th, 158) rounded out the 'Cats lineup.
No. 26 Wake Forest leads the 12-team field with a two-round score of 578. Wake's Charlie Harrison leads individually at 141, three-under par. Davidson is the lone Southern Conference team in the field.
The tournament will conclude with the third-and-final round Monday.
