Four Wildcats Named Academic All-District

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson's John Behm, Joe Cline, Peter Kidwell and Morgan Popham have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The quartet advances to the national ballot for Capital One Academic All-America honors.
Behm has 30 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack in nine games this season. The senior outside linebacker, who owns a 3.43 grade point average in political science, is a three-time Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll selection. He was named second-team All-PFL and PFL All-Academic in 2010 and was one of 22 players across all levels named to Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, one of the most prestigious off-the-field honors in college football.
Cline, who carries a 3.84 grade point average in math with a minor in chemistry, has played in all 10 games this season and made five starts on the offensive line. The senior is a three-time PFL Academic Honor Roll selection. Davidson ranks10th in FCS and third in the PFL in pass offense with 296.6 yards a game.
Kidwell was a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-PFL?selection in 2009 and 2010. The senior defensive back has 46 tackles, three interceptions, five pass breakups and a forced fumble this season. He was named second-team All-PFL in 2010 and All-PFL Honorable Mention in 2009, and has started 27 consecutive games. He has a 3.31 grade point average in economics.
Popham, who has a 3.61 grade point average in Spanish, was a 2010 CoSIDA first-team Academic All-District and first-team Academic All-PFL selection. The senior defensive lineman was named second-team All-PFL in 2010 and has 18 tackles, two tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries this season.
He has been named to the PFL Academic Honor Roll three times.
Davidson concludes its season with a 1 p.m. contest against Valparaiso Saturday at Richardson Stadium.
