Davidson Football Receives Inaugural Academic Progress Award

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson football team has been named one of 14 inaugural recipients of the Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Directors Association Academic Progress Rate Award.
The FCS ADA Academic Progress Rate Award recognizes one institution at each of the 14 FCS conferences that has the highest Academic Progress Rate (APR) score, and Davidson is the 2010 representative from the Pioneer Football League.
The Davidson football program recently received a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for posting multi-year APR scores in the top-10 percent of all the teams in college football.
The NCAA member colleges and universities adopted a comprehensive academic reform package designed to improve the academic success and graduation of all student-athletes. The centerpiece of the package is the academic measurement for teams, known as the APR, which began in 2006.
