DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Wildcats look to pick up their third league win when they welcome Presbyterian to Richardson Stadium on Saturday afternoon in women's lacrosse action as part of Davidson Elementary Day.
Elementary Day Info
Davidson Lacrosse will have Davidson Elementary Day on Saturday in support of Davidson elementary student Kira Berkhout. Kira is in her second year as the Davidson lacrosse honorary teammate for Friends of Jaclyn Day. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (FOJ) was founded in honor of Jaclyn Murphy who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. FOJ is a charitable organization created to raise public awareness regarding pediatric brain tumors.

The game is free admission and there will be an autographs session following the Wildcat's contest vs. the Blue Hose.
The Opening Draw Control
Davidson (4-6, 2-1 NLC) is seeking to halt a two-game skid when it hosts the Presbyterian Blue Hose (2-8, 1-1 NLC) for a National Lacrosse Conference game on Saturday, Mar. 27, at 1 p.m.
The Wildcats own a 3-2 home record, but have split their last two contests at Richardson Stadium.
The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
The series has Davidson leading 2-0 as it dates back to 2008. Last year in their closing regular-season game at Presbyterian, the Wildcats brought home a 20-9 win. The duo of Jen Crawford and Haley Cook led the attack with four goals each on their way to season highs in points. Crawford earned a game-best six points on four goals and dished out two assists, while Cook tallied four goals and assisted on another for five points.
Last Time Out...
... Davidson — The Virginia Tech Hokies opened up a 16-4 lead after one period and Davidson was never able to recover in falling 22-8 on the road on Wednesday afternoon.
Scoring for the 'Cats were Crawford and Cook with a pair of goals each, while Erin Keitel, Jenna Mugele, Emily Rahill and Anna Smith each score a goal apiece. Crawford picked up the 'Cats lone two assists to push her season points total to a team-best 32 (24 gls./8 asts.).
A 5-0 run to open the first half and then a 6-0 run later in the half gave the Hokies a commanding 16-4 halftime lead.
The Wildcats regrouped a bit in the second half, holding Tech to just six goals, while scoring four of their own. They opened the half with three straight goals from Keitel, Crawford and Cook to bring the score to 16-7.
For the game, Virginia Tech had a 10-shot (36-26) and 10-groundball (29-19) advantage on Davidson, but the 'Cats did equal the Hokies in draw controls at 16-apiece.
Michelle Pav played all 60 minutes in goal, registering 10 saves on the afternoon.
... Presbyterian — The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team was unable to overcome an eight-goal halftime deficit in the 21-4 loss to Navy on Monday.
In the loss, goalkeeper Susan England established a stadium record for her 17-save performance. It is the most saves ever in the stadium - for a men's or women's game.
Senior Jenna Handshoe and Jordan Newberry each accounted for a goal and an assist. Kirstin Stenoien and Marie-Lisette Dimitrew each accounted for a goal. In addition to England's solid night in the goal, she also scooped up a team-high four ground balls. Erin McBurnette tallied a team-high two caused turnovers.
The PC defense held Navy at bay for the first 6:55 of the contest. Just 34 seconds after the second goal of the game, Newberry fond Handshoe to slice the deficit to 2-1. In a span of 6:11, Navy though would score six goals for an 8-1 lead.
Navy opened the second half with an 8-0 run that pushed the score out to 19-3.
