Skeadas Leads ‘Cats After First Day of Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Freshman John Skeadas led Davidson men's golf to a ninth-place ranking through two rounds in a very competitive field at the Seahawk Intercollegiate, hosted by UNC Wilmington on the Dye Course at Country Club of Landfall Monday.
Davidson was in a tie for seventh after shooting a first-round 297, but struggled some in the second round with a 317 to total 614 on the 7,058-yard, par-72 course.
Skeadas opened with an even-72 in the first round and a five-over-par 77 in the second to total 149 for the day, tying for 18th-place. Wilmington, N.C. native Jackson Taylor (75+76=151) is two strokes behind Skeadas in a tie for 28th place. Junior captain Bobby Urso (t-43rd, 73+82=155) and junior Christopher Rollins (t-49th, 77+82=159) rounded out the 'Cats' scoring group.
No. 7 Augusta State leads the field at 569 (280+289) and is followed by No. 8 South Carolina (588), UNC Wilmington (589), Georgia State (591), No. 38 Wake Forest (595), No. 47 VCU (595), No. 39 North Carolina (611) and Davidson. The Wildcats lead James Madison (615), William & Mary (626) and Drexel (657).
Competition will conclude with the third round Tuesday
