Urso Leads 'Cats at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Bobby Urso leads the Davidson men's golf team after the first round of the 41st annual Furman Intercollegiate on the Furman University Golf Course Friday.
Urso shot an opening round 74 to lead the 'Cats. As a team Davidson is tied for 22nd with a total score of 313. Jackson Taylor was second-best for Davidson with a 78. Christopher Rollins shot an 80 while John Skeadas and Walker Allen each shot 81's.
Chattanooga and Clemson each fired an opening round 289 to grab a two-stroke lead after one on the par-72, 6,994-yard course. Western Carolina's Tanner Briele posted a tournament record round of 65 to take the individual lead after 18 holes.
The second round is set for Saturday with play scheduled to begin from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees at 8:00 a.m. Final round action is slated for Sunday morning.
