
Elswick Selected to Lowe’s Senior CLASS First Team

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior forward Callan Elswick (Locust Grove, Va.) of the Davidson women's soccer team was named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS All-Senior All-America First Team as announced by the organization recently.
Elswick was one of five selections to the prestigious first-team Lowe's Senior CLASS (Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School) Award for women's soccer. She is the first Wildcat in program history to garner such honors.
The senior, who maintains a 3.88 GPA and is majoring in CIS, adds to hear academic honors on the year. Earlier this season, she was named to the coSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District III Second Team after earning a spot on the third team as a junior in 2009. Elswick is also a two-time All-SoCon Academic Team member and was a captain this year for the Wildcats.
The senior started all 16 games this season and added her fifth career goal in a 2-0 win over Winthrop. During her four-year career, Elswick played in 75 games and started 36 of them. She finished with five goals and five assists for 15 points.
Ali Hawkins of North Carolina was selected as the 2010 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award winner on Saturday, Dec. 4. The award, chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I women's soccer coaches, national soccer media and fans, is given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in NCAA Division I women's soccer. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.
