Michael Saari Named All-America Scholar

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Senior golfer Michael Saari was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar, as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA).
A total of 108 players in Division I earned the honor. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70 percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.20 grade-point-average. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Saari finished his collegiate career with a stellar senior season, leading the Wildcats with a 73.71 strokes-per-round average in 23 rounds of play. He recorded four top-ten finishes, including taking home Individual Medalist honors at the Davidson College Invitational. Following an 18th-place finish at the Southern Conference Championships, the Lilburn, Ga. native was named to the All-SoCon Team.
He becomes the sixth Davidson golfer to be named to the honorary squad, and the first since the 2006-07 season.
