Three Wildcats Named Preseason All-PFL by Phil Steele’s Magazine

Preseason camp begins Aug. 10.
DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson senior Mark Iafrate was named first-team Preseason All-Pioneer Football League, and classmates Tyler Lemons and Andrew Aldrich were named to the second team by Phil Steele's College Football Preview Magazine today.
A 2008 All-PFL Honorable Mention selection, Iafrate returns to anchor the line for an offense that ranked second in the PFL in passing and fourth in total offense. In 2007, the 'Cats allowed just seven sacks on the season, which ranked third in FCS and led the PFL. The guard has started 12 straight games and made 19 starts for his career.
An inside linebacker, Lemons was named second-team All-PFLlast season after ranking second in the league in tackles and tying for second in forced fumbles. He started all 11 games and recorded 91 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He has started 18 consecutive games and 23 for his career.
The 'Cats' top receiver a season ago, Aldrich ranked fourth in the PFLin receiving yards and fifth in receptions. He played in all 11 games and caught 52 passes for 578 yards and four touchdowns.
The Wildcats return 13 starters and 41 lettermen from the 2008 team. Preseason camp begins Aug. 10, and Davidson opens the 2009 campaign Sept. 5, at Elon in a 7 p.m. contest.
