DAVIDSON, N.C. -- For his record-setting performance against Gardner-Webb, freshman first baseman Drew Gadiare was named among Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week.
With his fourth home run of the game in the 11th, Gadaire (5-for-6) tied the record set by Gus Quattlebaum, who homered four times on Feb. 16, 1997 against VCU. He also singled in his first at-bat and finished with a game-high five RBI.
The Gardner-Webb Bulldogs, though, put together three hits for the winning run in the top of the 12th, taking an 11-10 win over the Davidson Wildcats Wednesday night in midweek non-conference action at Wilson Field.
