Six Wildcats Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Lauren Calve, Tyler Kirkland, Liz Luckey, Christine Rua, Ellie Szykowny, and Amanda Vredenburgh have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad for their success in the classroom during the 2008 season.
The six Wildcats were named to the honorary team after posting a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher during the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.
Seniors Calve and Kirkland were both named to the squad for the fourth time in their careers. Luckey garnered Academic Squad honors following the 2006 and 2007 seasons, while Rua, Szykowny and Vredenburgh made their inaugural appearance on the team.
