DAVIDSON, N.C. — Fresh off its fourth Southern Conference Tournament Title, the Davidson women's soccer team looks to carry on their historical season with a matchup against No. 15 South Carolina in the program's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 13, at Stone Stadium.
The Matchup
Davidson will take its eight-game unbeaten streak into the NCAA Tournament when the Wildcats play at host No. 15 South Carolina on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.

The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
The Wildcats trail the series, 6-2, since the two teams first met in 1996. The 'Cats opened the series with a 2-1 win at home on Sept. 1, 1996. Their other victory in the series came in 2000 when they tallied a 3-1 win at Alumni Stadium.
The last time the two teams met on the field was in 2003 at Stone Stadium where the Gamecocks scored a 4-1 victory, Sept. 17.
Scouting the Wildcats (12-9-1, 7-3-1 SoCon)
Davidson enters the NCAA Tournament on an eight-game unbeaten streak (7-0-1) ... the 'Cats captured their fourth SoCon Tournament title with wins over UNCG (1-0) and College of Charleston (1-0) at the tournament ... Sunday's game vs. CofC went 108 minutes until tournament MVP Amanda Flink headed in a corner kick at the 108:27 mark for the game-winner ... Flink was part of a Wildcat defense, which included Louise Timboe, Sophie Newsom and Sophie Funderburk, that played 198 minutes of shutout ball over the weekend ... joining the defender on the all-tournament team was fellow defender Timboe, goalkeeper Jessie Baxa and midfielder Lauren Conner, who netted the game-winning score on Friday vs. UNCG ... four 'Cats earned first and second team All-SoCon honors this year ... pacing the Wildcats is the duo of Kyri Bye-Nagel and Blakely Low, who have combined for 15 goals, seven assists and 37 points ... they also have a combined six game winning goals ... Bye-Nagel, the SoCon Player of the Month for October and three-time first-team All-SoCon pick, is fourth in the SoCon in goals (8) and points (21) ... Low is close behind with seven goals and 16 points ... Allison Drutchas (3) and Flink (3) follow next in goals, while three other 'Cats have two goals each ... Davidson holds the top honors in the SoCon with 34 goals and leads the league with 320 shots ... goalkeeper Jessie Baxa combined for 11 saves last weekend and has a team-best 47 ... she has started 12 of 15 games and registered four shutouts with a 6-5-1 record ... fellow goalkeeper Loring Ward has started 10 of 13 games with three shutouts.
Scouting the Gamecocks (17-3-2, 7-3-1 SEC)
South Carolina, seeded second in NCAA Tournament, won the program's first SEC Championship when the team knocked off LSU in Sunday's final by an 8-7 margin in penalty kicks ... the Gamecocks have advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of the past two seasons, earning a draw against Duke in 2007 and falling to William & Mary in overtime in 2008 ... USC had lost its final two regular season games, before making its run in the SEC Tournament ... they opened the year on a 14-game unbeaten streak ... the Gamecocks are currently ranked 8th in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll, with an RPI of 17th in the nation ... six players have registered 10 points or more this year, led by first-team All-SEC Kayla Grimsley's 29 (team-best 11 gls/7 ast.) ... Kim Miller has a team-high 11 assists and is second on the team with 17 points ... four Gamecocks earned All-SEC honors, while Shelley Smith was coach of the year ... Blakely Mattern (7 gls./1 ast.), a four-time All-SEC selection, was the SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year ... Mollie Patton has started all 22 games between the pipes, owning a 0.54 goals against average, 13 shutouts and 59 saves ... USC played two SoCon teams to open the season in CofC (W, 2-0) and Western Carolina (W, 2-0) ... the Gamecocks also faced UNC Wilmington (W, 2-0), another common opponent with Davidson.
