DAVIDSON, N.C. — Junior Kyri Bye-Nagel (Hanau, Germany) added yet another honor to her playing career resume by garnering a spot on the Soccer Buzz Southeast All-Regional Third Team as announced today by soccerbuzz.com.
Bye-Nagel joins Kara Koehrn and Nancy Haskell, who made the third team twice, as the only three Wildcats in program history to earn a spot on either the first, second or third all-regional teams.
This year's postseason awards for the junior also have included a second straight nod on the All-Southern Conference First Team and a spot on the all-state team, which was also the second time in her career she has earned a spot on that team.
Pacing one the top offensive units in the SoCon this year, Bye-Nagel concluded her junior campaign with team bests of nine goals and 20 points. The junior forward finished ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, in the league in each category. She started all 19 of the Wildcats' games this season, one of just four players to do so.
Bye-Nagel twice was named SoCon Player of the Week this year, pushing her career weekly award honors to four.
The junior had an outstanding month of October when she scored six of her nine goals and picked up two multi-goal games in leading Davidson to a 6-3 month. After not scoring a single goal during her freshman campaign, Bye-Nagel has now tallied 21 goals the past two years, while picking up four assists for her career. She has recorded five game-winners, including two this year.
Davidson concluded its fifth straight winning season with a 10-6-3 overall mark this year, and have hit the 10-win plateau in all five of those seasons.
