Burns Leads Women's Track, as Wildcats Compete at Duke, Neely Murray Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. -- Senior Brenna Burns turned in the best finish of the day for the Wildcat women's track and field team, as they competed at the Duke Invitational over the weekend.

In the "A" heat of the 5,000 meters, Burns placed 11th with a time of 17:45.46, and classmate Megal Atias finished 16th with a time of 18.04.70.

Junior Emily King finished 13th with a time of 18:20.56 in the "B" heat.

The women tracksters also competed at N.C. A&T's Neely Murray Invitational. Junior Kim Colley finished 27th in the 100 meters (12.89), while senior Amaka Obidegwu was 29th in the 200 meters (27.27) and 34th in the 400 meters (1:01.19).

Freshman Heather Conarroe won the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:02.53.

The Wildcats will return to action next weekend, traveling to the Furman Track and Field Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
