Funderburg and Jones Finish First at Murray Neely Invite

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Junior Will Funderburg and senior Beaux Jones both won their individual events to lead the Wildcat men's track team over the weekend at the Murray Neely Invitational hosted by N.C. A&T.
Funderburg placed first in the shot put with a throw of 51 feet (15.54 meters), a Davidson Top 10 performance.
Jones also finished first, winning the javelin with a throw of 178 feet 8 inches (54.45 meters), also a Davidson Top 10 performance.
Senior Brad Troxell (1:56.93) and freshman Melaku Teka (1:57.95) also placed for the 'Cats, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively, in the 800 meters.
The Wildcats will return to action next weekend, traveling to the Furman Track and Field Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
